MOU is inviting SLCLX and their families to attend this months activity, Mini Mopar Summer Nationals. Will be held this Thursday, 8/12. This event will be a the Larry H. Miller Dealership at 10905 S Automall Drive in Sandy at 7 PM. Go upstairs to the northern training room.
The rules will be different. There will be no entry fee. Yes, this is just for fun and no entry fee will be required. There will be two (2) classes: one class for adults, 18 and older and another class youth, those under 18.
Youth and adults can race 2 cars each. We will have time trials and each racer can test up to 4 cars. After time trials, pick your fastest two cars and we'll run eliminations. That way there can be lots of racing opportunities. Your cars will be registered and each one given its own distinct number so we can track the eliminations. Both classes will be run on an elimination ladder. There will be no to buy back opportunity since this is a no fee race.
We reserve the right to change the rules if we figure out a better way.
For those who are not familiar with these races: we run on a Hot Wheels type track so bring Hot Wheels type cars. It is gravity powered, but beware some cars are faster than others. At the top of the track two cars stage with a timing light. You get three amber lights and a green. Often times the best reaction wins. Electronic timers show the winner and the E.T. Of course a red light means you lose the race. It's just like the drag strip.
As for trophies, we'll have to see but there will be some kind of trophy for the youth plus a T-shirt for the Top Eliminator. The adults will run for a T-shirt.
Cold water and sodas will be provided by MOU. We will have MOU T-Shirts, stickers and a few 2009 MATS DVDs available for nominal fees. So if you want one of these items be prepared.
We look forward to seeing you. May the timing light be with you.
