^^^ Congrats to Kathy! 607 AWHP & Torque. That is fricken awesome. So looking forward to watching Kathy's Jeep at RMR. Have a question for you Harrison, what would 607 AWHP calculate out to at the crank? I know the loss on a rear wheel drive is about 18%, but I don't know what it is on a AWD. Technically speaking, these were corrected numbers. So truthfully it's probably making about 550 crank HP, and <500 AWHP at our altitude. From the guys I've heard Heath talk to, 600 crank HP is about the limit of the T-case and transmission, just because of the AWD setup. With the little bit of driving I did get to do in it, the transmission is definitely starting to show some wear. Side note... We've got an SRT-8 Challenger at the shop right now that has a procharger on it, we installed a set of heads, cam, and valvebody (Auto trans). But the valvebody we installed is simply amazing, I'm going to have to remember to get the info from it. You definitely know it's something cool when even Heath is impressed with it.

Most likely its Builder Bill @ Paramount Performance Stage 2 Valve body. I was going to get one but Jon(King Savage) talked me out of it (thank goodness). He stated unless you want to give all your passengers whip lash on every shift and even more violent, neck jerking downshifts, Jon recommending passing, especially daily drivers. When mine gets to the point of not being a daily driver, I will probably explore the valve body with blue tops, until then my Mopar Transmission Control Module with have to do for now.

So had to run and get some parts for an evo we're building at work right now. Then just as I start to leave, this pulls up.

Have a question for you Harrison, what would 607 AWHP calculate out to at the crank? I know the loss on a rear wheel drive is about 18%, but I don't know what it is on a AWD. Don't forget elevation drop. HP Loss at elevation = (elevation x 0.03 x horsepower @ sea level)/1000. This requires an oem number. So, say at the shop which is at 4250, that would be (4250X.03X425/1000) or, 55 hp. HOWEVER, force fed motors regain their loss of elevation horse power at only about 5 psi. I'm guessing that since she's packin more psi than that... she's not losing anything for elevation. I really just wanted to share my knowledge . In the AWD LX they say its as much as 25%. It seams steep, but if you look at my numbers, that isn't far fetched. Although I believe the Jeep isn't as bad, and it is more like 20%-22%. In the Jeep the transfer case is much more tight in tolerance as are the drive lines than what the LX has. In my car, take the crank 345 and lose the elevation, or 43 hp. That leaves me with 301 crank. Next is the drivetrain loss, at 20% loss leaves me with 240. So, considering I have an intake, exhaust, and custom tune. Pulling 277 on the Dyno is par for the course. That's a 37 hp gain from the work done so far so... Anyway, I'm sure I lost someone there. But at least I know what I was talking about in my own little world. Its conversations like these, I would love that Charger on KSL to get on a DYNO for so we all could be present to laugh at the guy.

Oh yeah, as for 600hp being the limit of the t-case and tranny, not even close. The drivetrain in the GCSRT is track proven all across the country upwards of 700 at the wheels, that's significantly more at the crank. The transfer case in the Jeep is twice that compared to the LX. In fact, the GC transfer case will disengage the front drive line if the torque management senses it cannot handle it. The system utilizes a hydraulic system where the elder LX t-case is straight mechanical, the LX transfer case is an all-in at all-time t-case. Hence, my little 5.7 has destroyed two of them. The newer t-cases in the LY chassis and later model LX cars (i.e. 2008 and newer) have the same technology as the earlier Jeep model. They also disengage the front drive line as well.
Its every LX owners dream to mount a Jeep t-case into our chassis. Unfortunately its exactly the opposite input and output shaft alignment. The best we can do in the LX is a cryo treated unit... we envy those in the Jeep.
Kelli, that means I envy your t-case........

You confirmed what I suspected, just wasn't sure. Good thing you mentioned the differences between the LX and GC transfer cases cause I was going to ask why you just didn't drop one of those in. Too bad there isn't a way to make it work. Great write up! Thanks! That charger is still on KSL? It appears no one else believes him either!

I wasn't able to take pictures while driving tonight but wouldn't have made much difference anyway since it was pretty dark, but on the way home from prelude dude's house in Syracuse I saw two sweet looking chargers on I-15 south by bountiful. One was I believe red and the other was a newer black with a purple stripe. Gorgeous cars but no one wanted to play... Ah well there were cops ahead anyway. I forgot that I picked up a couple cards at premier or I would have placed them on the two real nice looking challengers that frequent the walmart up there. I'll have to get those next time though. Pictures too.
