Well a really big thing going around on some of my truck related forums is the projector retrofit. So as usual I had to get sucked into it also. This is the 4th time I've changed the headlights out on my truck since I've owned it, but I think I'll be set for now. If anyone is interested in something like this the kit is fairly cheap (about $160) and takes a couple hours to install, depending on how you want it done. I'd definitely recommend this mod to anyone just running HID's in the stock headlights, the light output is so much better.

I would like to get a set and replace my high beams and fogs with those HID projector retrofits. ive been looking into and doing research on these for a long time ben, and some members on other forums say the charger headlight isnt deep enough for them, once you get the projector installed you dont have enough room to get the lens back on! but i have an idea on how to get around that! not for sure yet because i want to kill a few birds (mods) with one stone halos and projectors at the same time, and i wanna also get a new set of headlights to do all the work to first and then just swap out the whole units! hopefully soon i can get the units and we can work together on making these happen for us! Great job on the Dakota looks like factory and very clean!

Thanks guys! I've been reading up on projectors lately, and if everything goes as planned I think the company that made the projectors I currently have (Morimoto's) are gonna make an even smaller version to what I have.
The one's I have now are the Morimoto mini's just for reference. I think they might have to get rid of the high beam function to get the projector any smaller.

6k for temp, that's what I was running without the projectors also.
I've got 6k in the fog lights too, but I'm probably gonna be going to 3k sooner or later.

How hard is the install? You have to take the lens of the headlight right?

How hard is the install? You have to take the lens of the headlight right? Well I've taken my headlights apart three different times now so this time it wasn't hard at all, and yes you do have to bake the lens off of the headlight housing. There are videos on YouTube on how to do that for different types of housings.
