Twice now we have had the jeep engine just die on us. Once putting it in reverse and then Saturday trying to showoff to Richard on a hard launch. It just shuts off... Any ideas?

Just a guess, but maybe a throttle position/stop sensor. That same thing happened in my Durango and that fixed it. Usually when they go out that's the symptom. You can also try cleaning out your throttle body. I have noticed that they gum up quickly on the hemi

Ahhh the joys of modding the engine and fuel management systems of a vehicle.
After it dies does it restart as if nothing has happened?

Yes. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries but it **knock on wood** continues to restart. Would your shop be able to look at it? Yeah we could definitely try and get you scheduled to look at it! I've actually been talking to the guys over there about it and they all agree that they'd like to see it. From what it sounds like, it's probably the tune. With the abrupt stop or throttle it might push too much fuel, which in turn shuts off the engine to not cause any damage.

I had to go into the tune of the BEE and adjust the idle and throttle sensor to address a very similar issue. After that it ran great. I am not sure What tune Karl used on Jeep but given how similar our builds are maybe that would resolve it for you as well.

Well Let me drive the Jeep for 6 months to analyze the situation and see if I can reproduce the stalling of the engine ;D Okay back to the issue at hand, does it have any codes stored? Mine did it at Dyno day, when I tapped the gas, but car just restarted. Also had wierd issue few times when car is just cruising along, the car dies RPM tach drops, Speed gauge drops, gas and temp guage drop like car was in off position ,dashboard lights come on and than car comes alive without missing a beat, its the crazy thing I have ever seen.
I checked the National LX forums and this sounds like a common issue, with many different variations across all platforms. Anyhow, hopefully Sean's solution solves problem.

I might consider 6 mins of driving time:) I haven't plugged the predator in but I will so I can check the codes. -- Great idea.

I'm not greedy either, just greedier than Chris!!! Its Jeeps like yours that make me keep hunting for that SRT to park in my garage. Good luck, hope you get it fixed. Have you inquired with "Builder Bill" on the National LX forum? He specializes in customizing the SRT Jeep and builds components for them. He also races a 10 Second one if I remember correctly. In our world, he's da man!!!

I'll take 6 minutes too Kellie drives it down the staging lanes and gets out, I drive it down the track using about 14 seconds, and Kathy's at the end to drive it back to Kellie That should be enough time for an entire race season!
