Not really, they're using more/different gearing in the transmission to counter act rear gearing. It all depends on the overall sales of the models each company makes, since Ford sells more V6 Mustangs than Dodge, they get to make more V8 mustangs to sell. It's the overall gas mileage of each model that allows the company to make more or less of said model. That's what the whole CAFE rating on new cars is.

Oh yeah, if you are getting a torque convertor, you are going to wanna get a transmission cooler as well. Good thing, is they are only like $75 or so but will save your transmission from seeing extreme high temperatures.

Maybe harrison can chime in also but i know chis that you have done all this too so you know. With 3.55's, torque converter like 2800 or 3000 or whatever is best, and that tranny cooler?

PM plumcrazy, his name is Mike McCoy or better yet call his shop. Super Great guy to work with and he knows everything and anything drivetrain related, he is a guru of knowledge and experience. Mike installed my 29.1 SFI Flex Plate, Getrag gear setup, Torque Converter and TransCooler. Dont recall the price exactly but it was very reasonable. I do most of my own work and I'm very picky on who I trust to work on my cars. But Mike is one I would trust 100%. By the way Chris, awesome write up!

Oh I would love to grab those... I just may have to. Since I'm very new at the 300c thing, would you be able to let me know exactly what it is I need from here to have the stronger set up? I'm thinking that mustangs were somewhat easier to figure out, but I like the learning challenge... sometimes.
