I think just like most people have mentioned life gets busy and sometimes our hobbies get placed on the backburner. I have noticed that people are posting less on the actual SLCLX site and more on the Facebook site and that is one of the reasons this site seems less active. I also do agree we need to have more structure within the club. When Greg started the club his intentions were to leave all the decision making such as m&g's, cruises, club events, etc. to the members rather than having club presidents, treasurers, etc. I think when the group was smaller that way worked really well. But now that the club has grown and evolved I think we should have people take active leadership roles in the club.
I think the biggest misconception most people have in the club is our Admin positions on this site. Many people waited for Admins to post when the next club event was or to make major decisions about the club but that was not our role. Aside from Eddy who is the club president the Admin are just here to make sure the site runs smoothly, monitor posts, and help new members navigate the site. We are in no way the "club leaders" we are just regular members like everyone else who volunteered to help with the site.
I really think we need to get back to our scheduled monthly or bi-monthly meets. It seemed when we had those meets club activity was a lot higher. I know everyone can't make every m&g but a suggestion I had brought up was to schedule a m&g at the same time and day every month. Whoever could show up for that m&g great if not then maybe they could make the next. I think if with everyones help and ideas we can get the club back where it used to be and even stronger.

Nicely put! I think that a set monthly M&G did help a lot. It also worked well when they were moved around as well. At one time bi-weekly ones were set, but I don't think those worked out well. Maybe we should put a post up to find out which days work best for the masses. Hey all. Just letting you all know I have some ins with some marketing folks. That might not be a bad idea, but think we should hold off until the issue of the name is decided.

Eddy,
Sorry it has taken me so long to respond to this. As for me between the hip replacement last summer, the shoulder surgery, school, and my girl friends work schedule I was not able to be involved with much or do much at all. I am hoping this will change.
I am still in school and getting ready to finally finish my B.S. and still trying to get our Pub up and running, we will see how things go over the next few months, but I will see what I can do to be more involved.
On the other side of the spectrum, I probably wont be doing any shows or doing anything to present my vehicle until I get some issues fixed. I need to redo part oft he interior, get the car repainted, and replace both bumper covers. Between the winter, normal wear and tear on the car, two major road trips over the winter, and backing into my girlfriends daughters car.... the magnum is less than worthy of shows right now. Once I can get these issues addressed that will change and I will be looking to get back into that. especially once we have the pub up and running the car becomes an advertising piece.
It would be good to see some new life breathed into the club, see it go in an actual direction (instead of what seemed to me as spinning in circles over the past couple of years), get a new identity (hopefully it will help overcome the barrage of drama I witnessed), and get some new faces and blood into the club.
My time right now is very limited, but let me know if there is something you need help with, specifically with advertising, promotions, etc and I will see what I can do to help.
Dan

I'm definitely guilty of not being active recently. I have some personal family matters going on and have been out of state for awhile. I will more than likely be going back to Michigan soon too. It also seems that everything aftermarket (electrical) crapped the bed at the same time so I became frustrated with my car and modding. That being said I apologise and will make an effort to be more active. I miss you guys and look forward to more meet and greets. Mopar or No Car!

Thanks Frank but nothing major. The halos I bought had a bad ring and drivers. I got new ones in but haven't attempted round 2 yet... to add fuel to the fire, while putting my front fascia back on after round 1with the halos, I hit metal to metal and my KG led wiring smoked/fried and burnt the switch out. Luckily thats all that fried. Lastly due to mydumb arse move, I left my pod lights on for a LONG time and it burnt the image. Its just gonna take time to correct everything and I'll have plenty of that since I just quit my job.

I haven’t said much regarding thoughts of the club's direction, other than that majority of the folks are spending a lot of effort and coming up with a name that welcomes and invites more of a wide range of Mopars and larger region, which is alright but I think the picture or opportunity to improve club is being greatly missed.
I know my response may not be a popular one, or might even come across as brunt and harsh but it is what it is.
But what good is changing the club name to reach out or appeal to more members, if no one other than half a handful of members are actually welcoming the new members to the club? Point being, as of recently the welcoming of new members reply's or responses have been darn near nonexistent.
Example is evo912, I apologize in advance for using you as the example, as my intent is not to call you out but clearly show a club flaw. Evo912 has had 55 page views and no one other than 2 members could drop a line saying welcome? And of that, the club has had 40+ members login over each of the past 2 days, and he/she hasn’t been the only ones. Now I know not everyone is super active but at one point in time, you received numerous "welcome, glad to have you here with us" replies to your introduction thread.
Or maybe we should do away with the introduction thread? I personally find it more dishearten and sad, that one takes the time to post a comment about themselves to the club and may think either no one cares if I am here or worst just being ignored. Yeah that is going to make me as a new person want to come to an event. I know this maybe on the extreme side but put yourself in the newly joined member place/shoes.
Regarding Admins, a position that one normally would make an appoint to login from time to time,( I don’t mean everyday) and yes I realize everyone is busy and has personal lives, we all do, which is why I requested to step down from admin couple years back. No lost there, as those that supersede me have and are currently doing a good job. Once again this is not to call out anyone presence or past. Just that it would be nice to see future/current admins login more than a month’s time.
My .2 cents for what it’s worth, we should start on getting back to making the club a lot more informal and inviting. A little less popularity contest, example being, that one member post a new topic/thread it falls on death ears, another member post the exact same thing moments later and it receives tons of replies. I know the word cliquish has been thrown around couple times and maybe find out what people like or dislike about this club in an open and honest, non- threaten forum. It’s hard to fix the unknown so please let us know what can be improved upon.
Let’s get back to bi weekly or heck even monthly meet and greets, that don’t involve track/race outings or 6 hr carshow outings. Just a come as you are and hang out for a bit or as long as you want/can “ meet and greet” like the ole days when we used to have 30+ members at bi weekly events.

Well said Chris, it's human nature to get a bit complacent sometimes I'm definitely guilty of it! Heck I'm on the forums probably 2 to a dozen times a day with my phones proboards app. But I just click on the most recent posts then jump out but I do also post but probably not as often as I should. Its part of my routine everytime I grab my phone, email then facebook then text's then I check the forums! It's super easy app I suggest everyone look to getting it, I know Eddy uses it as much as I do. Its far easier then booting your pc or laptop! And your always in the know! I also can't stress enough about how useful our facebook page can be! That said let's take this thing to the next level!

I appreciate everyone's feedback and although some of the words sting a little I agree with a lot of it. I want this club to succeed. I have enjoyed the friendships I have made along the way and consider many of you family. I've made trips to California, Las Vegas, St George (thanks Richard for that one)with the group and enjoyed every minute of it. We've hung out at each other's houses and met each others families. I love this club. It's obvious that we want the club to continue and to improve. I honestly don't know how to make that happen. I am getting conflicting things on what people want. Some want it to be informal and fun like it used to be. The problem with that is that no one wants to step up and plan a get together an m&g or cruise. Its a fun idea but we are all (myself included) waiting for someone else to do it. Some want the club to be MORE Formal, with titles and officers. I for one am not comfortable with that. I never have been. When I took the reins from Greg what I thought I was getting myself into was administering a website. I have never been comfortable with the President title, because I don't see myself as being above my friends. Should we have another poll in regards to this? My last poll doesn't seem to be too popular, but honestly we have seen more activity on the forum because of it than we have had in a long time. This is your club. It is what you want it to be. if you want it to be mediocre it will be. but in the same way if you want it to be great it can be as well. It has always been easy to point out problems. Offering solutions, now that is impressive. Well here is one solution I am offering. I can not be the leader that this club needs. I don't have the time passion or leadership skills to do this anymore. I have not washed my car once since march and I have been missing a passenger side rocker panel since the end of February. My new daughter has taken up my time and passion. My cars have been secondary. I am stepping down as Admin as soon as I finish typing this and then I will give up the main Admin account to whoever wants to be a take charge kind of leader and has the time to commit. I am not quitting the club, I just want to enjoy it without having to take everything so personal. If you are interested at taking over, PM me with a plan for the club and we'll discuss it. Depending on how many responses I get we may have a vite with everyone's ideas and decide based on that. Thank you all for the opportunity to serve I've enjoyed almost every minute of it, and if I've disappointed anyone I am sorry.
