I posted this in the voting thread, but I will repost here. Ah, the age old question of what to change the name to.... This tends to come up year after year. I'm not gonna lie, you all know my 2 cents. When I started this club in.... 2007? I never even thought it would become what it did. We tripled in size in a very short period of time. We had LX's, Neons, Dakotas, Hell, we even had a Mustang that popped up once in a while. The club was never about the name. We welcomed everyone. If they had a passion for cars, no mater what make or model, we welcomed them with open arms. A club is about the people, the passion. Not about what you call yourselves. If someone says they don't feel welcome because they don't have an LX, then there is something else there holding them back, not just the name of the club. I'm not saying that any past/current member is out there making people feel uncomfortable or unwelcome, I'm simply stating that there are other reasons other than the name of the club that is keeping someone from participating. As for the SLC/Ogden/Provo aspect, I have always felt like that is more of a territorial tug of war. You need to keep in mind, the idea behind the SLC in SLCLX stems from people outside the Wasatch Front, normally have no idea where Ogden and Provo are. Think about it. Your in SoCal at SpringFest, someone says hey, nice car, where are you from... Hey thanks, I'm from (insert non SLC city here) Utah..... Hmmmm..... Where is that?...... Just north/south of Salt Lake. I obviously understand that my opinion doesn't have much weight anymore or hell, it may not even be welcomed anymore, but if there is one thing I learned about starting and running this club for 5 years.... You can't please everybody. You have to adjust to the masses. Take this for what you will Never said better brother! Sent from my SGH-T889 using proboards
