The Mag is what it is and I don't see it's 1/4 time improving much. I'll start posting time ships when the Valiant starts seeing the track!

I'm a certain my car is the fastest at the track yet... STRAIGHT 0's BABY!!!
I'm quite jealous of you all who that have gotten to run this season. Though I'm undergoing a huge transformation on my car, I still wich it had a time slip. Maybe I'll get something from Boise, Douglas, Evanston... my back freakin yard, I don't care but I have to get something some time. All in due time though, when I start my car I have to remember the engine is brand new and will need to undergo a short break in period.
Keep them slips comming boys!
Harrison, you guys and your Jeeps. That's what my next big purchase is going to be. I may sit on my 2004 Viper dream for a while and just spring for the Jeep. Unfortunately my wife thinks I don't need two 6.1L Hemis to drive around, she wants my second vehicle to be more "conservative" on my wallet when fueling up... What does she know? :-) One fact remains, the Jeep SRT is just a freak of nature. Much like that stupid Traiblazer SS. Anyone got one of those out on the track at RMR yet? I'd love to see that SUV showdown in person.
PS, you guys will be seeing me soon Harrison. I'll need a Custom Tune once the new engine is all done.

Harrison and I both run 13's with very minimal mods. Here are some links to some YouTube videos that were filmed in Mexico. Jeep only had a CAI and muffler delete at the time, not even a tune yet. TBSS had a slew of mods in comparison. CAI, muffler delete, efans, 3200 stall, 180 t-stat and a tune.

But that's pretty bold to say they don't even come close in comparison. The GCSRT is a freak machine and is a consistent victor over the TBSS, yes. But in many cases and mod for mod, time slips put them within a half second of each other which is fairly respectable. Especially when you take into account the difference of their original sticker priceds Truthfully, there are few SUV's that it can't rule. I think about the only SUV that may be a contender is the AMG series SUV's with their Bi-Turbo V8's and they are a totally different breed of SUV and cost over twice as much. Then there's the Range Rover with its supercharged VA... either way, the GCSRT and the TBSS are very strong performers considering the price point of either vehicle. I would like to see more of the TBSS/GCSRT rivalry in person and on a track. We have several of each around here locally and there are to many variables on the street to enjoy the battle. Man.... did I just partly defend the TBSS? What the heck is wrong with me!!! Sorry, I must go repent my sins now... Well, at least the Magnum now has the 6.1 HEMI under its hood so I can feel good about that at least. I'm getting closer, one step at a time, to having a real SRT. You guys gonna bring your cars over to Hypoxia for the year end run in September? I was pretty sure there is one more left. I think the Magnum will make it over this time. Let me know, we can do lunch or something too if so.

The 2wd TBSS's close the gap a little bit, but not much. And I was only saying in stock or near stock form. The only stock time I've seen from an AWD TBSS at RMR to compare with was a 14.9. I ran a 13.7 with just a muffler delete so the difference is more than just half a second.
I'd like to get up to that track for the last event. I'll have to see what I have going on that weekend.

I've heard of the TBSS bombing at RMR. I'm not sure why. Driving one personally and having seen them on the street as well as seeing many time slips and videos as I'm a member to TBSS Owners (I technically own one if you consider my wifes 9-7X with the 363 Stroker)... I do find it surprising. I never question the Jeep won't win, just that there has been many slip for slip races that they participate in. Is it driver, is it atmosphere, is it the track? Who knows, but for an SUV $15K+ cheaper off the assembly line than the Jeep, one can't complain. It is quite obvious though, that if the Jeep wasn't such a consistent performer, Chrysler would not be the only one of the Big Three who still makes a sport SUV. I'm not a GM supporter, but I think it would be interesting if GM or Ford got back into the sport truck and sport SUV game. Could you imagine something like an Acadia with an LSX motor? I'm one for competition and what has made Chrysler succeed was the competition which they faced. Without such competition I just don't want to see them get get comfortable. On that note, I am glad to see testers such as Car and Driver throw the GCSRT into the ring against Porsche, Benze, and BMW. Keep them on their toes in that class.
Anyway, I am hoping to get the Magnum out there and see what the AWD does with the 6.1. I'm sure its about the only track I'll get to this year so I might as well. I'm hoping Tony and Chris will bring their happy a$$es out too. I got some friends that race there consistently and I'd like to see everyone put it out there for the heck of it. Kyles 5.0, Jeff's C63, and Cindy's Lighting are all fun on the track that fair quite well there quite often. I think its time a couple of Mopars show up in a group to liven things up a little :-)
Keep us posted or PM me if you are going to make it. We like to do lunch afterward at the Brewery......

I completely agree about the competition. Competition is the only reason Ford pulled their heads out and put a decent power plant back in the Mustang. Our hobby thrives with the competition and I'm all for it!
