Dang! That sucks! Got any pictures of the damage? No, I haven't taken any pics yet. USAA is supposed to come out and write me up an estimate. I don't know if it'll be above my comprehehsive but it is still ugly. More $$ outta my pocket... I did remove the 3 metal rods from the road and kept them. I didn't want anyone else hitting them and I will show them to the insurance agent. I guess I could take some pics but I pretty much came home and parked it. I just don't wanna look at it right now...

Sorry to hear about the scratchs, that stinks! How bad are they?
I'm looking forward to helping you put the finished product on! Next time we'll have a little more time, plus it won't take as much time to take the front off since we know what we're doing now.
Glad to hear that you decided on the color, though I was parchal to the gray with the gray shaker. Either way it is going to look nice.
Ben, I agree that you probibly don't have to pull the wheels off, but it sure gives you a lot of room to work if you do. You can really peel back the wheel liner and get it out of the way. Plus it really doesn't take that much extra time to pull off the wheels.

Plus it really doesn't take that much extra time to pull off the wheels. The first 3 scratches are pretty deep. They feel like small grooves and you can see white coming through. The last 2 scratches aren't as bad. I have to admit, after I cooled down, I went back out and took another look. They are noticable and definitely need a shop to fix them but it could've been worse. I will try and post some pics later today. I look forward to geting it put on too and woiuld appreciate your help. You definitely have the hook-up in tools! The install might not be for awhile though. I don't plan on geting it back until this Friday and I am going camping this weekend. Maybe the weekend after??? I would've liked the look of the silver/grey too. I just figured I am leaving my options open by painting it black and having the silver/grey come through the gills. This way, I can always paint the shaker silver/grey (argent) to match the gills and vinyl at a later date if I decide to. I wonder if the city would do anything about the damage? I guess I would have to prove the the steel rods I picked up are actually form their construction...

Dave sorry to the bad news, I can understand your frustration. I hate throwing money towards repairs that could have been prevented, like when my son closed garage down on my trunk. Only thing worst is throwin money away for speeding tickets

Let me know which one works best for you and let's start early again. That way I have time to work on the kids Saturn after wards. As far as the city, it would hurt to try, and I would also try Granite Construction as they are the one going most of the work on Antelope. I would just get pictures of the metal pieces before they are hauled off.
