The Bee is the first car I tried removing the suitcase and installing FM super 40's and the BB reso delete just for somthing different then my norm (used Zoomers on my R/Tmaggie & R&T). I love the sound of the Bee and would like to try to keep the exhaust but on the way home from the M&G it was far louder then the trip down I atribute this to the exhaust being only about a day old and breaking in. Janell was not happy at all by the time we got home and she had a valid point you just about have to yell to talk while at 70 to 80 mph, below that is not much better and above is far more intense. All that being said a guy on our block suggested using Dynamat in the trunk. Will it be of help? I'm just not sure it will be able to ruduce it to a tollerable level. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear that your getting too much drone that you can't hear your wife while cruising. Hmmm... maybe I should get the same set for my car? ;D J/K Your Bee sure sounded pretty from the outside. I don't know if dynomat would help or not. I guess you could always try it that way and if you ever get your system upgraded, your trunk would already be good to go. I thought BB made a resonated set? I just looked it up and they do, the GP300XR. Wouldn't that help with the drone?
Whatever you go with let me know cuz I am interested in upgrading my exhaust.. I love the sound of yours but like you, don't want the drone.
Good luck!

Hey guys, I got some info on reducing drone if not eliminating. Someone mention Corvette X pipe on your exhaust would greatly reduce drone, I inquired with with Karl and he confirmed it, I haven't heard or experienced it for myself, but I am looking to do that myself when I get some extra cash In the mean time, you could always AutoShift. It helps me a lil when cruising around in low rpms.

Dynamat would help if you did your rear floorboards and trunk pan.. I don't know just how quiet you want it. But dynamat will only help so much it made mine like 15% better... And it's not cheap so honestly there's gotta be better fixes

And it's not cheap so honestly there's gotta be better fixes Indeed, I talked to a friend that owns a shop in NY (built my stage 2 Oettinger S4 Audi & 383 Stroker 80 Z28) he suggested the same rear floor boards etc, and he also told me to reduce that ammount of drone while not changing the exhaust note would take at least a double layer of the Dynamat and cost in the ballpark of 1000 dollars material and labor (New York rates) and I should just scrap the current exhaust for either the Zoomers or Corsa, so ladies and gents I am inclined to try Corsa they seem to have a large following and it would be somthing new for me... argh! the choices lol

yep, zero drone, not very loud cruising but I am going to fix that with cutouts. Then I can be loud when I want. They are very nice sounding at WOT i liked the corsa's so much I bought them for the jeep too.

That's interesting that you have drone at cursing speed. My drone problem is between 1500 & 2000 rpms on a slight acceleration. Once above 2000 rpms it goes away. At highway speed there is hardly any noise at all. I've also got the Flow Masters (don't know if their the 40's). Most people I know that have my type of sent up don't have a problem at cruising speed.
As everyone else has said, auto shifting around town is the easy way to get rid of it. But the drone at 80 mph puzzles me.

I believe Gary L told me he was looking for a corsa set up as well.

Karl was unsure, but the impression I got from him, is it was sold with Headers, HiFlow Cats and Xpipe as a package.

I am tired of yelling to talk in my car on the highway, and saying "huh?" while around town. So I ordered Zoomers again this time with the X pipe, I had them on my 07 R/T R&T and loved them. Should be on by monday, I'll try and shoot of a before and after of the sound.
