I have been skimming over the threads and seen all the problems and complaints with halo lighting. Is it worth spending the money on them with all the problems that have been brought about just by the people within this group?

I have the ccfl's and the only problem I have is that when its really cold outside one of them gets a little dim. I've been really happy with them overall.

I have never seen issues with the LED's. I am however done with my CCFL's. I will be swapping to Focustech LED's soon.

I have the ccfl and prefer the look of those to the leds. That being said, I have had an inverter go out and they were installed inside the headlights. I reinstalled them outside of the headlights for easy replacement if necessary.
I also have taillight leds and two of the little bulbs don't always work or flash.
So, pick your poison. This is by far one of the best mods. You can run white legally on the roads or go with a different color and take your chances...
