I got my painted Grip rockers today from 402 Motoring. This is part one of my Grip setup. I will get the Grip front end painted and installed once the snow is done for the year.

ordered my cam from 402. When I went to install it, it wasnt ground properly. We had 3 guys all doing cams in Vegas, and flew in a guy from Michigan for the installs. Paid his airplane ticket and 300 bucks or so each. Was a great price for a cam install. Anyways, we call Franks, who gave us some info. Realized cam was messed up. We ended up using a dremel to custom grind my cam in the garage. Got it installed. good deal. Anyways, called 402 to see whatg they would do about the whole mess, of selling me defective stuff. Made it work but thats besides the point. They basically said f**k you, the problem is comp cams, since they ground the franks design. I told them, "I paid YOU the money, you are responsible" and they basically said, again, f- you. So F them.

What is a fair install price? And was this the Franks Racing sidewinder Cam for $219? I have heard good things bout the Sidewinder cam. I am debating inertia cam or Arrington cam, PPP has one for $435, Comp Cam (mild idle) for $391 so many choices. Also did or have you had any troubles with passing emissions?

Paid 400 or so for labor. I will install for 300 with your help for anyone who wants to do a cam. You get the parts and have a warm place to do it.

What cam do you recommend for a daily driver. I know some are MDS friendly and others are not

sidewinder is MDS friendly, mpg increased between 1-2 when in mds on the freeway. Butt dyno, and people who have actually done it, show about 30 hp, depends on if you have headers or not. If you have the cash to do heads as well you should, since you need to pull the heads to do the cam. In fact, labor is the same to do a cam, as it is to do cam, heads, and headers. N ot really any extra labor.
