Welcome from Germany. My Chrysler 300c is a AWD and it is better in the snow.

Welcome from the west end of the valley!
My R/T is a daily driver, in any weather. So far it's been great to drive in the snow, with no real issues. There's a few tricks that make it easier to drive in the snow (such as turning off the ESP and starting from a stop in 2nd gear with the transmission in manual mode), but the biggest factor to successful winter driving is dedicated winter tires.
If you can afford it, I would look for an '09 R/T, especially if fuel economy is a concern. Several internal changes to the engine bumped HP up to the 370 range, with torque just under 400 ft. lbs. In order to keep performance comparable to previous models, the rear end gear ratio was changed to a taller (numerically lower) 2.65:1, which will keep the RPM's lower during freeway cruising. I regularly see 27 to 29 MPG cruising at 70 MPH, with my best being a one way trip average of 32 MPG going to West Yellowstone this past fall.

My SXT is AWD and it is better than my wife's Armada in the snow. I hear that the RWD is good in the snow, but the AWD is awesome. my RWD absolutely sucks in the snow. There is no weight over the back axle to help. but in knowing how to drive it in the snow sure helps as stated above. as well as parking lots ;D Eric. . . . Ten Thousand Pound SUBS Help

I also have RWD and have not had any issues in the snow. Infact, last thursday I drove from Riverton to Sandy to American Fork with no issues at all. Infact I see more 4WD vehicles in the ditch than RWD. Keep in mind, on a slick surface, 4 wheels slip just as easy as 2.
