having installed both companies' LEDs in the past few months (AAC for Emily and Flashtech for me) I would have to say that AAC has the better product. Flashtech LEDs now come with an inverter/voltage regulator that is both huge and awkward. It makes finding a place to hide difficult -- I don't know if because of it they may run better than the AACs but for someone who likes to open his hood at m&g's I'm having a hard time hiding it.

Amazing we can put everything we need into our pockets via a cell phone and something to run our little LED's is so huge. What the Heck?

The black thing just looks like a heat sink (heat displacer) to me, so you should be able to cut it down and not really hurt anything.
I can't believe it didn't come in some type of weatherproof case, seems to me if you get a drop of water on that circuit board you could have some serious problems.
I bet if I took a look at the circuitry I could get you a resistor that does the same exact thing that huge thing does, and then it could be hidden along with the wiring. Problem solved.

I just bought a diesel generator that's smaller than that thing Let us know how the hiding goes...x2 on the weather proofing...did they provide a housing or something? Water and circuit boards definitely do not get along!

I have a spray that will waterproof that board if you need it Eddy!

No weather proofing at all. i just bought a "Project Enclosure" from RadioShack and will be mounting the regulator in it. My only concern is that since it is an enclosed box, will it overheat?
@ DartBoy, the reason for the inverter is that Flashtech is using 9v LEDs now so it converts the 12v power from our batteries to something that won't blow out the LEDs. I've heard horror stories about people who mount the lights without the inverter.

I put it in an enclosure now the fun begins trying to hide it. I'm seriously sticking with AAC next time.
