So I'm thinking about doing away with my suitcase muffler and replace it with an x pipe. How much louder is this gonna make it and is it going to keep that throaty sound I have now or go all raspy on me. Will I have any issues passing state inspection

It's gonna be loud if you don't have a muffler on it, but if thats what you're looking for then go for it. As far as the raspyness you need to keep a resonator on the to alleviate that issue. Believe it or not the Flowmaster 10 series sounds really good on the v6

The X pipe will change the exhaust note, but my understanding, it drastically reduces drone. I imagine the X pipe will will keep the same throaty sound but reduce interior cabin noise, at least for the 6.1 w/ headers. Good Luck & Keep us posted. The X pipe I was advised to go with was the X pipe for the Vette, go figure.

What I did was put the Flowmaster Super 40s where the suitcase were and I delete the resonators at the end. I can come by and show you how it sounds like if you want, since we are both in Provo. Shoot me a text. I'm pm you my number.

I've got the same mufflers as Ben except I straight piped where the suitcases where and put the mufflers where the resonators where. Little drone issues.

I know we're talkin different engines and all but I have very little issues with drone in the jeep with the flow master 10 series on it.
