Some small plans in the works for end of year/first of next year. Debating on what to do and which would I benefit most from, (1) BBK LT Headers("claims 21 RWHP increase")/Hi Flow Cats or (2) 18lbs Forged Racing Drag Racing rims with 295/45/17 Mickey ET rubber.(".5 second off my 60ft time") Cost is cheaper for Headers and Hi Flow, labor is going to be very reasonable as my cousin in law will help with header install. I strongly feel some lightweight 17 drag radials will be night in day compared to my all season street tires and this would address my traction issue which makes it hard to compete doing bracket racing.
LT Headers and hiflow cats (killer deal) would be roughly $750 which is $300 cheaper then just the wheels alone, not counting tires. But I have a feeling this will be great on dyno but not real life at track, as this will probably cause me to spin more lol. Of course it will sound all so deeper and throaty..
See Tony and Ken this is all your fault, I blame you two (just kidding). Wife is getting a new kitchen table and I get some new toys. Fair Compromise, I say.

I've heard that putting headers on the SRT really doesn't give you much gain over the headers we already have. High flow cats should make a difference, but I thought you already had them.
If your shooting for improving your 1/4 mile times, you need to get your tires to bit.

I say go with the headers. With you spinning all over the track it gives me a better head start lol ;D jk
With that scare you gave us at the track last time get the tires

Gordy is correct the exhaust manifolds on our srt's are really shorty headers and flow really well. We looked inot headers when were were building the BEE and talked to some really savy exhaust people and it seemed that the gain to cost value was not there. Dave and Craig will be back beginning next week I'll be happy to run the header thing by them and Jerry and see if for your app the headers will be worth the expence.

Yeah, that’s what I keep hearing but if BBK and many other state "proven 21 RWHP gains" then its worth the challenge to see if these claims are close to true. Besides, I plan to do a 7.0L (426CI) stroker down the road within 3-4 yrs and this would certainly be beneficial long term with stroker kit. I think alot of folks say the small gains aren’t worth the cost, and I agree if you are paying $1500 for headers and $400-500 labor cost. But when you can get LT headers under $400 and labor cost is a few grilled steaks and some very cold refreshing drinks, then I say its well worth it. I agree Gordon you are right, I need to address traction issues, so I am leaning that route first, besides if I can shave .5 second off 1/4 mile and still keep car as is "wife driven approved" then yes, it seems like the logic choice. I say go with the headers. With you spinning all over the track it gives me a better head start lol ;D jk With that scare you gave us at the track last time get the tires LOL, you need no head start, your build is going to be the one to chase at the track, once you beef up those half shafts and get some slicks or drag radials. Get the rims/slicks and magnaflow highflow cats. Yeah wish I could do all of the above, eventually but I have to take steps towards final build. Still want to get BC coilovers. Yeah Karl and Dave W informed me the Stock headers are pretty good being they are from the factory. And I agree the cost of $1500-$2k isn’t worth the maybe 20RWHP gains.

I only got done doing a whole port job on my heads, installing a 6.1 manifold that is also gutted and ported. Oh and the Hi flows arent on yet so your safe.

My headers didnt really seem to add much power +5-10% at wot maybe, they sounded sweet but that's as far as It seemed to go... If you're slipping all over the track the tires are the way to go unless you want a better sound on the street every day.... Don't buy the headers for performance until you're ready to stroke/sc/turbo. Not worth it IMO.
