The date for MATS 2012 is April 13-15th 2012, with the Cruise most likely being on April 12th. For those of you that aren't aware of what MATS is, MATS stands for Mopars At The Strip. Mopar lovers come from all over the west for this event and includes everything from classic to modern Mopar Muscle. There are several events to keep just about anyone occupied including drag racing, Auto Cross, Car Show, and a Swap Meet (I think there's even an off road event). They even have a concert either Friday or Saturday night that's free with your admission. Hotel Rooms for this event fill up fast! For more Details you can go to www.matslv.com. Attachments:

Thanks Gordon for info! Cant believe the host hotel is already sold out. Which hotel are you and majority of the club planning on staying at?
Anyhow look forward to this event and glad they pushed it back a few weeks for chances of better weather and reduce of snow on drive.

You have to call and and mention that your your with MATS and they should have rooms, but not for long. I think there's a Super8 in the same area. I don't stay at the Cannery, there is a Holiday Inn Express just south of the air base which has better rates and it's closer to the track. That's where we'll most likely be staying again. Wish I knew when Springfest was next year as I would like to attend that as well. Both seem to be so close to each other I end up having to choose one over the other. Given a chance to race or sit around in a parking lot, you know which one I'm going to pick! If you can hook, you should be well into the 12 second times Chris!

The more I can save on Hotel the more I can do as far as racing more than 1 class. Based of the DA compared to SLC RMR, I hope that will be enough for at least half second, along with better track prep and these Super Sticky Mickey Thompson, I feel pretty confident I will break into 12 seconds and I will most likely have my highflow cats by that time. Dont want to get to far ahead of myself but it will be sub 13 sec or Bust ;D And I wish I could do both as well but I have done SpringFest the last 2 years and this time I plan to do MATS. But SpringFest is a blast, everyone should check it out at least once in a lifetime with 700 Modern Mopars from all over the America and Canada.

Hey Gordon, Are you doing "New Hemi Challenge" Class and "Street" Class? Thinking bout True Street Challenge as well, sounds like its overall show appearance, workmanship, drag and autocross, especially if I get the BC Coilovers by then. Wonder how much the cost is for this event. I know the drag classes are $75 each. Anyone else planning on going from here besides Gordon?

I'm definitely gonna try and make it down this year for MATS, to make a suggestion I stayed at a brand new Best Western next to the air force base, rates were cheap ($80 a night) and it's right next to the freeway so it was like a 10 min drive to the track.

Hey Gordon, Are you doing "New Hemi Challenge" Class and "Street" Class? Yea, that will be the two classes we enter in. Price to enter both classes include a pass for the whole weekend. It's either $75 a person for a week end pass to just watch or $75 a class to race. No brainer for me!

I will try to make this one There is no trying, just doing ;D Besides Ken, Las Vegas will be some of your best times compared to RMR due to lower DA and the cool temps come April 15th weekend.

Here is to being the pioneer! Hope you get everything figured out just in time for next year race season. Hate to see another high performance Force Induction car never make it to the track, which seems to be the norm. Glad Tom(cibola100); DeWayne(terro45) and Rod(hotrod) came out but there is so many more that havent
