... More to go as I save up I went and installed the 180 thermostat and diablo 91 performance tune and took her for a test spin. The seat of the pants dyno says something sure improved... Though I may have to bump the throttle thing the rest of the way. Didn't notice a difference at 10%. After a bit of gaggle searching I found where to put the fan settings. She sure stays cool now. After the thermostat I barely lost a half pint or so, but the level on the coolant tank says it's still enough in there.

Congrats on the pred ;D I need to learn how to do all the different settings myself. I have been affraid to mess with them.
Bring your tuner with you to the next M&G and we can show you what setting to change.

Make sure to watch the temp of the car for the first little bit. Some times when you get air in there is seems to cause over heating problems until it's able to bleed all the air out.

Also keep in kind there are 2 temps to monitor. The gauge in the cluster is coolant temp, and the temp in the EVIC under Systems Warnings is cylinder head temp. Having a drop in coolant temp is all good but a measurable drop in actual engine temp is what will make the difference. You mean the one that looks like the oil temp? I've only seen one temp gauge in the evic... Right after oil pressure... :/

As long as your engine temps dont exceed north of 250, you should be good. Regarding more guage readings in your evic, slclx.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=tuners&action=display&thread=84

The over heating issue happens before the thermostat has opened. I don't know if it's because there's air trapped around the thermostat and it's not getting hot enough to open (which would be my guess) or just what it is. But once it opens any air that was trapped would be released. I've seen this happen twice. If your engine has reach operating temperature then I wouldn't worry about it.
Sorry, didn't mean to make you worry!

I just installed my killer glass and 180 T-stat, and I drained almost a gallon out. In order not to spill all over the place. I would add some more anti-freeze. Chances are you have an air bubble in your system.
