On my 5.7 i have somewhat of a custom exhaust from what i can tell, looks like some custom piping and it has a magnaflow muffler that is kinda loud but really droney inside, obviously a reso delete. I am thinking of cutting that muffler off and putting on a glasspack muffler. I like it loud. I know, I know I should just go buy a borla or corsa but for those who don't have a thousand dollars... any thoughts?

Try winning one! ;D I was in the same boat as you pretty recently. I was just lucky enough to win a Corsa. Before that I had the brylcream mod and believe ut to be the best bang for a buck. To be honest, I never heard a Charger with glasspacks. I'm sure it would be loud and give it an old school sound.

I put a 3" jegs kit on my challenger which has 4 glass packs on it, I didn't think I would like it, but started with it because it was the biggest bang for the buck, but I kinda like the way it sounds, and it performes really well! If your going to the RMR Friday u can hear it and judge for yourself.

I want to do a true dual with two glasspacks, I think that would be enough for me, are the glasspacks really loud?

keep the factory x pipe and run mufflers of your choice, you are gonna get a few different opinions as everyone has different choice but i would tend to stay to the side of good name brand chambered style mufflers, higher end corsa (dave you're still one luck bleep lol) would be the top choice for sound and performance, next in line like a lot of us run is the always great sounding flowmaster 40 0r super 44's (a little louder) or magnaflow these all sound great! as for quality chambered mufflers there always gonna sound the same for the most part, your typical glass packs or straight-through mufflers use packing material around a perforated tube in an attempt to muffle the sound. This design tends to trap high-frequency tones while intensifying other ones so if your worried about the dreaded drone, i would probably steer clear from this setup! the packing will wear out after a while and as a whole will be louder then other setups but i wont say it wont sound good, Ive never heard a newer hemi breathing through cherry bombs or purple horny's! the club has a lot of different setups, take some time and listen at a few meets with us, we'll all be happy to let ya hear some ear candy!

I have a magnaflow on it now i think, it was on the car when i got it but im pretty sure its magnaflow, anyways its not imoressive at all. i just want people to know ive arrived thats all, ive heard some 40's and 44's and they do sound good. corsa... oye just the name makes my wallet run and hide... but, you get what you pay i guess.

I've got Magnaflows with a 7DB reso delete courtesy of Blastin Bob's. It drones a little, but I'm a wagon so its par for the course.
Honestly, the sound is great. If you want to be noticed, go a little further and lose the restricted cat's and get headers. Once you get the exhaust opened up the Hemi sounds great. Granted I've never heard glass packs on a Hemi car, I have on a truck... the guy had a mullet so it made sense. I've heard them on 5.0 Mustangs and they sound pretty impressive. I'm sure the right combination of glass pack and tip will make music on the Hemi.
Or... you can have the best of both worlds, just have a set of butterfly dump valves installed. Then you just flip the switch and get a direct dump before the muffler... those are a real treat to the auditory canal as well. My friend did it to his LS2 and it sounds effing unreal. But close it and its respectable and not so detectible to the cars with blue and red lights if you get my drift.

I have Flowmaster Super 40s where the suitcase use to be and just straight pipe out from there. Got rid of the resos.

Congrats! Looking forward to hearing her. Do you have much drone?

It is loud, I have less drone than I did with that stupid magnaflow muffler, but there is still a little drone. It has really great tones because I left the X-pipe in there, I can't wait to show you! Whats cool is it's really pretty quiet in the lower ranges and has a nice deep idle but its not that loud either, but when I get in it, it explodes

So you still have catalytic converters then right? If you didn't take the x-pipe out I'm sure you still do.
Just FYI, when you go for safety/emissions they could fail you for not having some type of muffler.
