Does anyone know if the header flange is different from the 5.7 and 6.1 ? I have found several good deals on 6.1 long tube headers, but don't know if they will work on my 5.7

I have found several good deals on 6.1 long tube headers, but don't know if they will work on my 5.7 Good Question, I thought so but I know many R/T guys using Stock 6.1 shorty headers, so they are somehow making them work, as far as long tube not 100% sure. I would check around on the lxforums as I know there are alot of insanely modded 5.7s. Good Luck, worst case, is you could always sell em if they dont match up for some odd reason.

The header flange, at the head, carries same bolt pattern. Pre 09 models the differences is the EGR. I.E. 6.1 does not have it, 5.7 did, or it was at least located differently. The gaskets have that difference in the port configuration. I installed my 5.7 shorties using 6.1 gaskets since I don't have the EGR on my car. Sucks for anyone who wants to reactivate it... can't unless you poke a hole in the gasket.
As for the distance on the long tube to the exhaust flange and its arrangement... no idea. I've seen many 6.1 oem manifolds and shorties on 5.7's but not long tubes. Perhaps that is where the difference lay??? I don't see anything on the national forum regarding a long tube fitment for 6.1 and 5.7 either???
