Here it is. After two weeks of waiting I got my baby back last week.
The Danko grille kit had horrible fitment, great quality part but it ended there. No biggie though... my guys at the shop pulled through with a mold in to the bumper...
And without further ado:
This is the work in progress. I had a gap of roughly 1/2" on all 4 sides for the mounting bracket. The actual grill didn't have to bad of issues... I'm thinking something in the mold was wrong with the mounting ring and bracket. you couldn't bolt it to the front fascia without owning stock in washers.
So... we cut the bracket into quarters. Mounted it to the outside of the urethane instead of the inside. Riveted it to the urethane and used it as a dam to pour and hold the molding compound by SEM. We used 3M on the outside as it needed a little different product. It looks a little crazy from the inside but its rigid as hell.
The fool on the left is my long time friend Kirk. He's an animal with a paint gun. If you check my facebook, you'll see a green chopper that he custom painted with ghosted mural under the clear. He's got an eye for subtle touches. He had the idea to go back to a semi gloss on the fog bezels and use the same black on the grill. Reversing from the all white look I previously had. Couldn't be happier.
The one smiling at the camera, that's Ron Yeager. He's Justen's brother... they are the family from Yeager's Automotive in Green River. They have become my go-to guys locally because he is a man of his word who treats his friends well.
Finished product... need I say more
