Well I must say, rmr actually had their stuff together. Event started on time, exactly at 6p. Staff was very friendly and out going. Even the ole grumpy guy was nice, talking to people and smiling. Hats off to them. I think a lot of guys that had bad experience in he past would have been pleasantly impressed with the organization last night. They cleaned and prepped track a few times throughout the night.
The only thing, they have to figure out is a way to evenly get racers through the lanes, lucky for me, they kept directing me to the fast moving lanes, i got 4 runs in within 2 hrs. Met and talk to alot of cool folks, had a great time and looking forward to hanging out with you guys some more. Apologies in advance if I can't remember everyone's name.
There were only a handful of mopars racing last night. Kelly Hadlock was out there tearing the track up in his srt4. Rob " challenged grampa" was out there in his beautiful challenger! Mike "392srt8" was out there in his 392 challenger. Car is looking good. Needs to throw some Sticky 18s or 17s on the rear to help out with the dreaded wheel hop. Met and carded cool young guy " think his name was Brady" he has a sweet clean red srt8 charger. First time out but I think he will be a regular
. Hopefully he joins up.
Driving home, I did see a flat black srt8 jeep and was going to pull into Walmart where he turned but I was running late to get to party and on top of that, my other headlight went out. Haven't had chance to inspect if it's the headlight or just ballast or just fuse. So I had to drive all the way home with my brights. Glad I didn't get pulled over or cause an accident.
My best of the night was 13.163 @ 105, with a couple 13.2s and one 13.3. I did have a .013 reaction and slowest reaction was .116
Felt I could have gotten 12.9 with cooler temps as sun went down but I had to jet early. Heads and cam w650 lift going in this month. Shooting for 12.5 all motor no bottle this coming heads up club night and might just have some new rubber too.
I will post pics of timeslips later this evening. Going to go watch Justin and those going out today! Anyone else going?
