In my opinion I say wait til you get more engine mods. Save the $400 plus on a tune and buy ya something to really make a difference. Go get ya some headers to finish off your exhaust or buy a new cam?

Like Tony said I would use the money on something else for now until you get more mods. The canned tunes on the diablo work really well with the mods you have now.

Well I would have to disagree. For me, a CRM tune has been one of the best bang for the buck. Heath at Premier found me 25 RWHP & 20 LBS of Torque for $300 ish over the canned diablo tune. I used to think the same thing as Stephen and Tony but I dont know what other mod would gain that much versus the cost.
The only thing I would advise is, if you plan on getting more mods done, it may be better to wait for CRM, that way you dont have to keep paying $300-$500 for CRM tune everytime you add a mod that requires tuning example Ported TB, Ported Manifold, Cam & Heads, kinda like what I have done. When all said and done, I would have had 3 different CRM tunes.

Are custom tunes really that expensive? I can't even tune my car yet but arn't the canned tunes supposed to be giving you around 20 hp/tq give or take? I would pay $300 for a custom tune if it was getting me 40ish plus hp/tq but $500 for a tuner is a nice bit of change also...

I agree with Chris on the tune. I didn't get a dyno tune, but I had Johan (Diablotoona) send me a tune through email and then I did a little logging with my predator and sent him the logs a few times for him to dial it in. I am extremely satisfied with my tune. If I had to go back and do everything on my Jeep again, I would do the same thing that I have already done. 1st-Cai, 2nd-T-Stat and 3rd-email tune. If I would have had other mods planned in the near future I likely would have held off on getting the tune for the same reason that Chris said. But with a new baby, money is tight so I did the very basics and threw a tune at her and called it good for now. Also I wouldn't focus too much on dyno numbers. There are some things that are involved in the tune that won't show on the dyno, transmission tuning for example. Let your track times speak for you. That's what I do.
