JUNE WOW Event

For those of you that might be interested,the MOU (Mopar's of Utah) monthly event for June will be participating in the WOW (Wide Open Wednesday) at the LHM Track, very one from the SLCLX Group is invited!

We did this last year and for those that participated we had a lot of fun! The date is Wednesday, June 12. The event will run from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

For those that are not familiar with WOW; Wide Open Wednesday (WOW) is a unique program presented by Miller Motorsports Park that allows enthusiasts to drive their street or race-prepared car at speed on their world-class racetrack in a non-competitive environment, as well as an autocross course, & karting. No previous racing or on-track experience is required. Pre-registration is required however by LHM and must be completed by 3:00pm on the date of the event. Cost is $35.00 for Track Laps only, $10.00 for Auto Cross only, or $40.00 to participate in both the Track and Auto Cross events . Here’s LHM website for more information and to register. The number of laps that you’ll be able to make will depend on the number of people that attend (this is not an exclusive MOU event).

There is a good chance that many of us will meet up and drive out together (there may be more than one group due to people schedules) and we post up additional information on this as the event gets closer.

Ooh Decisions Decisions, yeah this would be alot more fun but I am itching to get my 300 out to RMR for test & tune. Too bad I cant do both.

do they let you have a passenger?
how crowded is it on the track? i don't want to risk getting hit or hitting somebody else.
it looks like they use the 1/2 track rather than the full straight... how fast can you get up to before turn 1?

It's based on an AutoCross type set up. They put a good distance between cars, so it's really only you and the track. They do split up he track, but if there is a fair amount of people they they will run both halves.

I hear ya! I've always hated that they are always on the second Wednesday as that's the same time as the monthly MOU club activity We had to make it one of our activities so we could even go. Maybe that's a good thing so I don't go through a set of tires every year.

Here's the track rules off of their website. Cars are released onto the track one at a time, and laps are not timed. - No passengers, no convertibles without a roll cage, helmet required.

You could always switch off and let him drive.LOL. Wish I could make it have a great time.

Yeah they have helmets you can rent, IIRC they're $10 for the day and you want to get their early to make sure you get the size you need, they go fast on the busier days.
