So, I was on my way to work this morning when my car died in the intersection . It threw a p0129 code which is a barrow metric code that has to do with the map sensor or exhaust . I replaced the map and nothing. So I was researching more and read to check fueling. When I turn on the the key the pumps come on. I took the fuel line off the rail and guess what I find, brown gritty crap in the lines. What could it be? Looks like rusty sand. When I turn over the car with the lines off no fuel comes out. Anyone ever get this problem? Is there anyway to get this junk out .

Go from the pump to the regulator and start cleaning

Oh wow, how in the heck did that happen? I hope someone didn't put something in your tank. That would be a mess to clean out.

I would invest in a locking gas cap for sure. Something like that would clog and ruin your fuel filter. I would try one of the Lucas fuel cleaning system. Also switch from what ever gas station you are going to. Good luck and keep us posted. Did the code disappear when ya replaced map sensor? Also see if you have a vacuum leak with some brake cleaner spray. I had the same code when I installed 90mm throttle body and stage 3 Cnc ported intake manifold. The car would surge something awful and then stall after much rougher idle. Stephen and i replaced the map sensor and all was good.

You can also maybe find someone to rent you a smoke machine so you can detect a vacuum leak.

Before you make any judgements just remember my gas gauge shows full. Plus I know I have 3 problems now. First is my fuel filter on my aftermarket pump has vanished, and is probably in the tank somewhere. The junk in my rails looks like it could be pieces of my filter and some junk in the bottom of my tank. Doesn't look like vandalism. 2nd problem is my gas gauge no longer works. And 3rd tank is empty. The only way to get a fuel filter is to replace the pump. Can the fuel filter be removed from the pump on our cars if we add an aftermarket filter to the line under the car like most other cars on the road?

Found filter in back of tank and it wont stay on the pump, Float on stock pump is broken so I will need a new pump anyway. It still flows fuel so at least I can drive it. Replaced map sensor and Checked it for vacume leaks and found none so don't know what the code was for . Thanks for the input.
