I wont be able to get rims until mid summer and im really getting sick of not having black rims to match of the rest of the black. Greg told me about this awhile back at a meet but forgot about it until recently. This guy on chargerforums painted his rims with Duplicolor wheel paint and it looks great. www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1695071#post1695071Found a couple of tutorials on youtube like this one and it seems pretty easy. Just wondering what you guys thought, im really not the greatest painter but it seems so easy.  |

I'd test it out on a junk rim before I tried it on my good ones. I think the OEM paint is baked on, so I don't know how durable the finish will be from a spray can.

I really want to get my rims painted. This would be a nice money saving thing to do, just not so sure how long it will last not being baked on.

Havent found any problems with how long it will last but if something does happen you can repaint it easily. I still want some 20" Viper or CSRT rims but plan to use these for winter so im not really that worried about messing them up. I think im going to pick up some satin black soon and try it out.

Dude, lets split the cost of a can. I wanna do this too. We can test it out first Im down, i heard its like 5 bucks a can, plus primer and you can do a whole car with that supposedly. Just need to get some rougher sand paper and thats it. |
