So has anyone ever heard of 'bedding-in' the brakes before?
Just trying to find out if its an actual legit method...
To sum up: -drive car normally and warm brakes to operating temp (don't want to start out cold, too much of a shock of temperature) -begin by equalizing speed at 60mph -brake HARD, but don't come to a complete stop and speed back up to 60 long enough for the brakes to cool off a little -brake HARD again repeating the same process over and over for 7-8 times (by this time it may be normal for the brakes to begin fading and or smoking) then drive vehicle and allow brakes to cool back down.
Found this procedure online, but can't find someone to confirm it its legit. Looking for someone who knows about racing to give a true estimation of such a theory...

I have read about doing this as well but have never done it. Some people swear by it, others say they have never done it. I wonder if the dealers 'bed' the brakes?

I always have bed my brakes when I have installed new ones. Its supposedly helps eliminate brake squealing and give you better breaking. When I bought new brakes and rotors from R1 concepts they actually recommended it. There bedding process was some what similar to what you posted
