you ARE lucky to be alive. was the other person drunk? I didn't think anything short of a semi could do that kind of damage.

The other person was not drunk. They weren't from the U.S. and didn't pay attention to the signs. How they got there I still have no idea.

so anyone running/walking, just the car show or all of the above? Debating on running, I am too heavy to run long distance, but 3 miles, I am sure I can run 3.1 miles. Not going for record time, unless ya consider the slowest time record. Either way, I will be there for the car show part. Glad you were okay Ben, I remember you telling me bout the accident. Those pictures look horrific

Thanks Chris! It's just for a great cause. I just checked on him today and he was able to get an exercise bike in his room so he can work out a bit as he is recovering from the bone marrow transplant. There might be prizes for runners, I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure being slow will be just fine. lol!!!

I had a head on collision where the other party drove the wrong way up an offramp. The police said the impact was estimated at about 80mph. I was rushed to the ICU and was in there with 4 doctors for an intense 4 hours. I was driving a 2003 Dodge Durango and the other person was driving an old Dodge Ram Conversion Van. Glad to be alive, but I was also pissed because I just bought 4 new tires, about $800, and was getting ready for a road trip. The seatbelt and airbags saved my life. Since then my hip is off by 13mm, better than at the time of the accident at 25mm and my back was just screwed up which was slowly aligned as best as the sports chiropractor could. Here's a picture of what the car looked like afterwards when we went to go take pictures for insurance. Holy crap! Did you get into the accident Ben or was it someone else? An 80 MPH hit is a bid hit! If it was you, I'm glad you are OK!

Yeah, I was driving the Durango. When I went with my dad to the AAA tow yard, I was having a nice conversation with the guy at the front desk. My dad came in shortly and asked if he could go take some pictures. As my dad and the guy at the front desk were walking towards the car, the guy apologized and said to my dad,"Sorry for your loss. This must be a horrible experience for you. Who was the driver?" My dad said,"You were just talking to him at the front desk." My dad couldn't take pictures of driver seat that I was sitting on. I had bled all over it. My chest was black from the airbag and I had a dark bruise on top of that from the seat belt. My chest was bleeding from the bruising. It's one of the first times I saw my dad emotional. When I arrived at the ICU they said I had 7 broken ribs, a broken left arm and wrist, a hairline fracture on my right wrist, and dislocated right shoulder, dislocated right hip, broken left tibia, broken right ankle and a few of the metatarsals on my right foot. I was in ICU for 4 hours and what happened afterwards is hard to explain. My dad came and gave me a priesthood blessing and asked that I would have a speedy recovery so that I can go on my mission. He asked the doctor to do one more x-ray. The doctor agree and was baffled at what he saw next. All my bones were like new except for the hairline fracture on my wrist. All my pain was gone except from being a little sore from having my shoulder and hip popped back in. The doctor looked at me with the biggest surprise on his face and said that I could go home, but I should check in again next week to see if I would need a hard cast for my hand. It was quite the experience.

Sorry about that Eddy. Don't know how I missed that that many times. All good just giving you crap. But be honest it was wishful thinking. With Chris there you thought that we were already at our quota for 300's.
