I talked to 2 of the Police offficers today that I know. They said it is illegal just like tail light and head light covers, and most Police Officers won't pull you over unless they want to check you out, and they will use that as a reason. However the UHP will pull you over for it. UHP is 90% traffic. Your city and county law enforcement generally won't. Thanks bud for the info, I know I've been followed numerous times before by local police and county entities, but definitely the UHP is the first to hassle me about it. Like I said though I think he was "fishing" and I'm not yanking them off till I get a ticket. I know I wasn't showing off or doing anything to draw attention either. (Which may be hard to believe for those who know me best, but its true, the wife hates my aggressive driving style) ;D My wife feels the same way. ;D

I agree on the UHP and their willingness to pull you over. Although WVC comes in a close second. I won't run my halos on the highway unless my headlights are on. I will run them alone off the highway and the city cops don't seem to mind. You will run into more problems with window, headlights, and taillight tint from the UHP. I would agree about WVC. I hate driving in WVC, but I have to from time to time.

This is why I kept my tails as light as I did. Hell, they still look red in the daylight. I've been followed by UHP numerous times on my way to work, and never had an issue.

I been pulled over by West Jordan for not having front licence plate on my Jetta.. I dont have a front licence plate on my 3hundy either. Yeah, I have been lucky when driving on I-15 & belt route... UHP dont really sweat me. Heck I drove my car all the way from Florida to Utah with dark window tint & no licence plates on car, just a temp tag in back window that ya could barlely see, and the minute I got to draper, I get pulled over. LOL

yeah, anytime I wanna have a lil fun behind the wheel she grabs my arm/hand really tight and says no no no in one of those kinda higher pitched squeals. I laugh a lil though.

You can use mine if they are fine.

Stephen, that sucks man, sorry to hear bout that. I guess they are cracking down on tinted tail lights. Geoff, Ben and now you. Yet I think all you guys were pulled over by UHP, not Sheriff or City. I will keep my butt off the Freeway as much as possible, but than again, my tail lights arent as dark.

He said they are looking for it now. They made some changes to the law and have pulled over alot of people with tinted lights. He said it is becoming very popular for people to tint them and wants people to know its illegal
