Okay I was just wondering if anyone has any real experience with this. Car is 2 years old not too worried about fading, but I have been reading about bubbling and whatnot. Are those real concerns on the molding? How do I go about getting them off...just kinda pull? :-\

I am interested too. Not sure I'm ready to take them off, I still like the 'extra' protection. (Maybe it's all in my head) It does look nice and clean without them.

From what I read and sitting next to my parents cars if you're going to get door checked your moldings won't do a lot for you

The door moldings come right off. Super easy. We've removed plenty of moldings at some of our M&Gs. If you are hesitant about removing them, post a side shot of your car showing the moldings and I'll remove the moldings in the picture so that you can decide if you want yours on or off. Personally, I like them off because it gives it a cleaner feel. Plus wax and dirt just gets stuck in the molding and you can't get to it.

So you just grip and rip? Then goo gone, clay bar, and wax it like everyone reccomends?

Before ya demold, make sure there isnt any clear coat or paint bubbling. After inspection, you can start with one of the ends, and just gently peel off the end, that would give you a better idea, of the overall condition. I have a lil issue with drive side front, and thats why I havent demolded mine yet, event though putting the SRT grill badge would be a quick fix.
If you decide to demold yours, goo gone, bug/tar remover, fine fishing line and skill hand to slowly pry the moldong off. They say spray the goo gone/bug& tar remover, let it sit in the sun to help speed process up and making removal easier. You probably want t clay bar & wax it after you are done. Good luck and keep us posted with pics, maybe do a before, during & after write up. Good Luck.

I used a hair dryer on mine to warm it up first but with the heat we had recently, you shouldn't have a problem. You will be surprised how easy they come off. I love the cleaner look.

My first SLCLX meet and greet, Jack and Greg ripped them off. Luckily didnt have any problems but just needed to buff out the old glue or whatever holds them

Great write with the pre & post pics. Certainly gives car an overall cleaner look. I wish I could demold mine, but got a lil imperfection up front where the 300C badge is, maybe one day I will just slap the SRT grill badge up to cover it up

Ditto on the nice write-up. I think it looks a lot better with them off. You will find that washing/waxing will be easier also. How do you like it?

Bubbling seems to only have been an issue with early build date 2005 models.

So is it recommended to this mod in the summer as opposed to this time of year?
