Whats the latest on the tuning for an R/T 6spd Alot options as far as tuning your R/T 6speeds but Diablo programmers seems to be the most popular choice amongst the Hemi community. I have the old school verison and I recommend it, of course they have like 3 or 4 newer verison since I got mine.

I'm using a Diablo for my 6 speed R/T Chally, however I have not loaded the canned tune, I ordered it with a Stage 2 tune from HHP for it. Best six bills I've spent on it thus far (That covered the tuner and the tune).

What do you like about The "old school " version over the newer? I am sure the newer verison is superior in extra features but the old verison works for me, and saves me from spending another 300-400 bucks. I think Stephen (RT722) has had both verison, he would be able to speak on the pros of each verison.

Just threw the canned 91 CAI tune on the charger, changed the shift points to 6000, keeps up with my brothers trans am now. Not sure what it'll add as far as 1/4 mile but we will find out this weekend, i'll be surprised if its significant. It does FEEL a lot faster tho i do say. Hey chris, any input on the 6k shift point? is it ok to run it to 6k like that? I know that it is sure making a difference in how my car pulls that's for sure, but is it safe?

I know some people have their shift points higher and have been ok. Does yours have the throttle booster in it? If so bump that to 20% you'll see it lose a little hesitation on take off.

As Tony mentioned, your car and engine will be fine. One thing to keep in mind, is when you start to lose power throughout powerband. Mine starts to taper off making power around 6000k, so I actually lowered my shift point from 6350 back down to 6k.

As a heads up one of the newer features of the updated files is like Tony said the throttle boost for killing some of that hesitation but the older version like the one I have gives you the ability to shut off the EGR for us 5.7 folks if you wanna remove its ugliness from your bay, in the newer update this option was removed and the only way to shut it down without it is a custom tune like you can get from harrison at premier! also noticed much smoother idle when i shut mine down. This also gives you the ability to run the "Z" bracket on your catchcan if you have one because the bracket mounts where the EGR sits. Makes the catchcan Much more accessible and looks much better on the z! This is just a couple variances of the 2 versions, like Chris said hit up Stephen he had both and may have some other pros and cons to consider, then ya just have to weigh what options are most important to you!
